Hi, we're the Sajovichs. My husband David is a homebuilder and I work in the local Austin film scene. We married in October of 2016, and are now building our dream home from scratch in Austin's up-and-coming east side. I wanted to start a blog to chronicle the process from start to finish.
We are SO excited to finally begin construction on our future home – it's been a long time coming! We'd had our eye on a particular east Austin lot, but it kept going under and then falling out of contract. Finally we were able to squeeze in and submit an offer of our own, which turned out to be a success. In front of our lot is where David proposed in the fall of 2015, knowing that it would be a meaningful spot for us for many years to come.
With wedding planning in the works, we also scrambled to get house plans underway, designing out the ideal floor plan for the architect to translate into blueprints. While our turnaround time was relatively quick, we unfortunately hit more than a few snags when it came to getting our plans approved by the city. That's all behind us now, though, and with stamped permits in hand we are only looking ahead!
A bit more about us:
David owns his own company, Pintail Resources, LLC. As both a realtor and a builder he has undertaken numerous remodels, flips, office renovations, and custom homes. His specialty, however, is new construction spec homes in central and east Austin. In his free time you can find him brewing craft beer, cycling, or hunting and fishing.
I do marketing and design work for an independent film consulting and production company, Production For Use. I also assist David on design selections for Pintail projects and stage the spaces once they are complete and on the market. For fun I love to travel, take photos, and explore that best that Austin has to offer in food and drink.
